Welcome to the guide on discovering the DENT-COR-TAP Smart Building Server from your PC and accessing the landing page. There are two methods: one will require limited access to your network, and the second will require access to your network, including your router’s client table.
If you’d like a step by step tutorial on wiring, configuring, programming, and testing your first PoE lighting and automation system, visit our PoE Lighting and Automation Bootcamp.
COR-TAP Gateway Hotspot Access
By default, your COR-TAP broadcasts a wifi signal you can connect to directly. It’s not connected to the larger network, however it does allow you to connect and program the COR-TAP itself. To access your COR-TAP Gateway’s landing page from the device’s own hotspot, the first step you will want ensure it is properly connected to your local network (i.e. you are providing internet access to it). You could power it on and connect to it all by itself, however, it’s not very useful as a network management server unless it is connected to the network.
Once you have verified the gateway is connected to your network and fully powered on, select the “dent-cortap-xxx” in your Wifi menu at the bottom of your OS taskbar and input the password given to you by your Denton DBI representative or installer. Once successfully connected, open up your internet browser and navigate to 192.168.70.1:3000. We recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla FireFox, but Edge is fine too.
This short video walks you through the process.
Pro Tip: The COR-TAP Gateway’s assigned IP will be visible by connecting to the COR-TAP hotspot, this will be useful for future access. Once on the landing page, review the information at the top left corner under COR-TAP xx.
COR-TAP Gateway Router Access
You can also access the COR-TAP using a browser with your PC connected to the Local Area Network (LAN) the COR-TAP is managing. To access your COR-TAP Gateway’s landing page from your network , again ensure the COR-TAP is properly connected to your local network (i.e. you are providing internet access to it). Next, connect to your local network either wired or wirelessly. Then, either use the IP address you saw in the Pro-Tip above or you can also find the IP address in the client list of your network management device – typically your router. The COR-TAP Gateway should be visible.
Once you have verified the gateway is visible on your router and network, copy the LAN IP address your router has assigned the COR-TAP Gateway. Next, input the IP address copied into the URL of your web browser in this format 192.168._._:3000. You should find yourself on the landing page, shown in the picture here.
